It's the obligatory one thousand page views post!

I totally have a thousand page views.

So, I haven't logged in for about half a year. There wasn't any real reason for the lapse, and I feel a bit bad about abandoning the semi-regular communication I had going on with a few people here. I don't really know what to say about that. Whatever, I'm drawing a lot more now, so it seems sensible to start updating here again. Maybe I'll message a few people, I've certainly got a lot of stuff to peruse/comment on.

Opera!

Fri Feb 18, 2005, 8:49 PM
A friend of mine's family have invited me to go to an opera with then. Wow. I've never been to an opera before. I'm going to download the music so I'm a little familiar with it before we go, but I really don't know what I should do about clothes. Is it like going to a club? Will they not let me in if I'm wearing jeans? It would be a shame if I didn't get to go due to my unclassy wardrobe.

Actually, recently opera houses in London have been making a big deal out of them trying to loose their elitist image. Maybe dressing like a Romero film extra, doing shots at the bar, and forgetting to turn your mobile off will be the next big thing in opera going. I'll let you know.

Happy Valentines Day, couples!

Enjoy your formulaic romance movies, and the uninspired, over-crowded meals out you've got planned. I hope all the pre-printed cards you get are extra-special, personal, and meaningful.

I'm not at all jealous.

Dammit, I hate Valentines Day. I know it's a retarded holiday, but being sarcastic and aloof doesn't make me any less painfully single. : /

Damn you, Sony.

I was going to make an "I'm so uninspired right now" entry, but that's kind of overdone, so instead I'm going to bitch about Forbidden Siren.

I bought Forbidden Siren today. There's so many great things about this game; It's so, so atmospheric, the sense of character and location you get is just amazing, nearly everything's perfect really. So why on earth would Sony want to ruin all that with such horrible dubbing? I swear, one (very Japanese) character is honestly dubbed by someone with a Cockney accent. This is just wrong.

On the game's website you could hear the original Japanese voice actors. They actually sounded really great. I understand that localization can be expensive, and that this is kind of a niche game, but subtitles would have been fine. Instead we get voice acting of a par with the cast of Dragonball Z. For shame, Sony. For shame.
